Creating a campaign
A campaign holds who sees your ads, when, what you pay and the ads themselves. Click New campaign under Campaigns and the wizard walks you through six steps. Save as draft works on every step, including an unfinished creative.
| Step | What you choose |
|---|---|
| 1. Basics | The campaign name. Only you, your team and SofAds see it. |
| 2. Goal & pricing | Pay per view (CPM), per scan (CPS) or per result (CPA). See pricing. |
| 3. Targeting | Countries, TVs, ad slots, and optionally language, TV brands, app categories and time of day. |
| 4. Schedule & budget | Start and end, total and daily budget, how often one TV sees your ad. |
| 5. Creative | The ad itself, in one or more languages. See creatives. |
| 6. Review & submit | A summary, the family-safe confirmation, and submit. |
Targeting
Every choice is a pick from a list, and every field you leave empty means "all".
- Countries: everywhere, only in some countries, or everywhere except some. Search by name or use the quick groups. The country comes from the viewer's IP address.
- TVs: the TV platforms: Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Whale TV and Titan OS. Platforms without TVs to show ads on yet are marked "Coming soon".
- Ad slots: interstitial (full screen between levels or screens), rewarded (viewers choose to watch or scan for an in-app reward) and QR card.
- When rewarded slots get the reward: after watching (works with every type of ad) or after scanning (QR cards only). This shows when your campaign runs in rewarded slots.
- More targeting (optional, collapsed): the TV's language, TV brands, app categories ("Show only in" or "Never in") and time of day on a 7×24 grid in the viewer's local time.
Advertisers can't target or exclude individual apps: that would reveal a single app's traffic.
Reach estimate
The panel next to the targeting shows the estimated TVs per day and ad views per day for your choices, from the last 7 days of traffic, and your exact price as soon as you pick countries. Small numbers show as ranges ("fewer than 100"), and a young network often shows not enough data yet. The estimate never blocks you: your targeting saves either way.
Schedule, budget and frequency
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Start | Empty: right after SofAds approves the campaign. Times are UTC. |
| End | Empty: runs until you pause it or the budget is used. |
| Total budget | The campaign stops when it has spent this (USD). |
| Daily budget | The most it spends per day (UTC), reset at midnight. |
| Per day, per hour, per app session | How often one TV may see your ad. |
| Time between ads | At least 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes, or an hour, between two of your ads on one TV. |
| Impressions per day, in total | Optional limits for the whole campaign (under "Advanced"). |
Whatever the budgets say, spend always comes from your balance, and every campaign pauses when it runs out.
Review and going live
The last step shows everything on one page, with a Change link per row. Before you submit, you confirm that your ads contain none of the prohibited content of the ad policy: every ad on SofAds must suit all ages.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Saved, not submitted. Change anything. |
| In review | SofAds checks the campaign and its ads, usually within a working day. It can't be changed meanwhile. |
| Running | Approved, and serving while you have balance and budget left. |
| Paused | Paused by you. Resume it any time. |
| Changes needed | SofAds rejected it with a reason. Open it in the wizard, fix it, and submit again. |
| Ended | Past its end date. |
When you submit, the price for your countries is fixed on the campaign. A running campaign keeps its targeting; on its page you can still change the name, the end date and the budgets, and Pause or Resume it at any time. A pause stops serving within a minute.
A changed creative or landing URL goes back to review. Until it is approved again, the last approved version keeps running.
