Ad network for Smart TV apps and games

Ads made for the couch, not the cursor.

Smart TV apps and games are used with a remote, from three meters away, on the biggest screen in the house. SofAds is built for exactly that: one small SDK for app and game makers, and a way for advertisers to reach people who are already looking at the screen.

Try the live demo: a tiny TV game with real SofAds test ads.

An example ad screen, drawn the way the SDK renders it at 1920×1080. The advertiser (a made-up streaming service) owns the offer on the left. The reward on the QR card, +1 ♥ here, is set by the app, never by the advertiser. SofAds draws the frame: the "Ad" badge, Close and "No reward if you close". The code is real: scan it and it opens our advertiser page.

Two sides, one remote.

SofAds sits between the apps and the ads. We run the decisioning on our own servers, so the code inside your app stays small and the setup can change without a store resubmission.

For publishers

Monetize your Smart TV apps and games with three lines of code.

SofAds.init({ appId: "sof_YOUR_APP_ID" });
SofAds.showInterstitial({ placement: "level_break" });
// addCoins is your own function:
SofAds.showRewarded({
  placement: "extra_life",
  onReward: (reward) => addCoins(reward.amount),
});

Plus the script include. See the setup guide for your platform.

  • One lightweight SDK that never throws and never blocks your app. Every call settles as shown, no fill, error or timeout.
  • Server-side mediation: floors, frequency caps and partner order live on our server, not in your package.
  • Free usage analytics: daily and monthly users, retention, session length, by TV model and country.
  • QR and rewarded formats that work with a D-pad, including rewards that pay out when the viewer scans.
For advertisers

Reach TV viewers, then hand them a phone-sized next step.

  • Full-screen video on a TV, in the natural breaks of apps and games.
  • QR cards: the viewer scans with their phone and lands on your page. Scans are counted, so you see conversions, not guesses.
  • Pay per scan, per conversion (CPA) or per thousand impressions.

What happens when your app asks for an ad.

Our ad server answers within a fixed time budget and works down the same ladder every time. If nobody pays for the slot, a house or cross-promo ad fills it instead of a blank screen.

  1. Check

    The app, its store listing and the device are validated. New listings get test ads until they are verified.

  2. Cap and floor

    Frequency caps and price floors per placement, set by you in the dashboard.

  3. Direct campaigns

    Campaigns booked with SofAds that match the country, platform and placement.

  4. Partner demand

    Video and programmatic partners, called from our server by country tier, each with its own timeout.

  5. House ads

    Your own cross-promotion or a house campaign, so the break never shows an empty screen.

Runs on

  • TizenSamsung
  • webOSLG
  • Whale TV
  • Titan OS
  • Vega OSAmazon Fire TV
  • Android TVlater

How each platform pays, and what it allows: Smart TV app monetization, with guides to Tizen monetization and LG webOS monetization. Amazon Vega OS (Fire TV) runs the same SDK in a WebView app (setup); Vega ad inventory is coming.

Network in numbers

The network, counted by our own ad server.

Coming soon

There is no real traffic on the network yet, so there are no numbers to show. Once there is, this block shows them, refreshed every day from our ad server: monthly active devices, ad impressions, video completion and QR scan rates, and where the audience watches.

Until then it stays empty on purpose. A zero would be true but useless, and a made-up number would be worse.

What the SofAds media kit will contain

Where we are, honestly.

SofAds is new. We make Smart TV games ourselves, and we built SofAds because we needed it for them. You won't find customer logos on this page, and the numbers above come straight from our ad server or not at all: we would rather show you real ones later than invent them now.

Now
Live on our own catalog of games (Media Hunter Studios), the first publisher on the network. Advertisers book campaigns themselves in the dashboard.
Next
The first outside publishers and demand partners, with app-ads.txt and sellers.json in place before any partner goes live.
Later
Android TV.
